My name is Carola Altamura; I am an architect and I live in Milan. I have always had a deep love for Puglia, with which I have had very close links since my childhood.I think back fondly of happy summers spent in Puglia at my grandparents’ home, of its brilliant sun and sea, the chattering of the cicadas and the calm and awe-imposing countryside around it. I love too the natural charm of the Puglia people, their instinctive warmth, hospitality and kindness, and their unfailing willingness to help, which play such a large part in making this region so uniquely inviting.I have restored this family property as a labour of love, destined to welcome my family and our friends for holidays to fulfil our dearest dreams: Trulli La Pietraia is a Trulli Boutique Home, a special place in which to spend quality time, where guests can partake of the same attention to detail as we enjoy ourselves and fully share in all its beautiful attractions.I believe that all places have a soul that guides you in the choices and decisions, and that”s how the project Trulli La Pietraia has taken shape; with carefully thought-out additions and attention to preserving its charm – careful always to keep faith with the solidity and charming proportions that typify the special peace and serenity which are Puglia’s natural bequest to every visitor.In my décor and fabrics I have chosen to follow the typical hues of the earth, stone and tufa of the surrounding countryside, both to pay homage to the enchantment of the native trulli but also to create a wonderful unity of the inside and outside of the property that will provide every visitor with a warm welcome and sense of elegant relaxation.This then is the background of Trulli La Pietraia, a unique place of striking beauty and atmosphere of well-being.
